It is so weird that the fall semester starts Monday. It feels like the summer is just beginning because:
a. The weather in Ireland in July was similar to the weather in April in NC.
b. Dad and I have been going to the beach two and three times a week like we do at the beginning of the summer.
c. Exhaustion from jet lag is eerily similar to exhaustion from finals.
But starting it is, and I’m torn. I’m excited about the classes I’m taking, but not excited about how busy I’ll be with seventeen hours and a part-time job. Hopefully it will be good, and God will teach me much about Himself as my instructors teach me much about creation. My environmental biology class looks incredible. One of the assignments will be starting a field guide to be built upon by next semester’s students. Somehow, I have a feeling that this class will show if my calling is truly research science or something entirely different. I’m also excited about this class because the instructor is excellent and a good friend is taking it with me.
So, tomorrow will be spent doing those small pre-semester things, like cleaning my room and getting the rest of my Ireland pictures on Facebook. I hope everyone has brilliant weekend!
Peace
ah! the beach! besides all of y'all, the beach is the thing i miss most about the south...
ReplyDeleteanyhoo, good luck in your classes! i hope it all goes well :)
My Cathy has just started blogging. She has inspired me to start. I wrote my first one and it disappeared. Of course, I had not saved it anywhere, so it is gone. Cathy is coming home on Oct 1 for about 7 days. She is a research scientist in NZ. Maybe you could meet her and chat. I'll be praying that you have a great semester!
